An industry-wide symposium on blockchain development management coordination mechanism was recently held in Shanghai, with an emphasis on coordinated promotion of blockchain technology, industry, and ecological planning. During the conference, the inaugural Shanghai Blockchain Expert Committee was formed, with each member serving a two-year term. Zheng Zhiming (Chairman of the Expert Committee and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), Dong Jin, Yao Qian, Lu Qi, Li Jie, Lei Ming, and Ma Xiaofeng are among the seven experts that make up the inaugural committee. The ‘Shanghai Blockchain Development Management Work Plan (2023-2025)’ was introduced by the Municipal Cyberspace Administration and the Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission. This marks a significant advancement in fostering the growth of the blockchain industry.
The specialists received appointment letters from Zhao Jiaming, the Minister of Propaganda and a member of the Shanghai Municipal Committee’s Standing Committee, who also gave a speech. The speaker underscored the significance of depending on the coordination mechanism, upholding the technology-first approach, augmenting innovation capacities, concentrating on implementation, enabling diverse industries, refining the industrial growth milieu, and guaranteeing all-encompassing governance frameworks. Additionally, he emphasized the need to strike a balance between efficiency gains and risk mitigation so that blockchain technology may more effectively support high-quality social and economic development.
