Elon Musk, a tech entrepreneur, has revealed that Ukraine’s Starlink satellite internet service has been activated. The decision comes in response to a request by Kyiv’s government, which is attempting to halt a Russian military attack that might damage communications and pose other dangers.
Elon Musk makes Starlink Available to Ukrainians
Elon Musk, a billionaire and crypto influencer from the United States, announced the activation of Starlink for Ukraine on social media. SpaceX, Musk’s aerospace manufacturer and provider of space transportation services, is in charge of the satellite internet constellation.
The entrepreneur also stated on Twitter that the company is supplying the essential equipment to Ukrainians. Starlink’s low-orbit satellites deliver high-speed broadband internet to users all over the world, but the connection to the network necessitates the use of a unique antenna and modem.
Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, addressed Musk directly on Twitter earlier on Saturday:
