The creation of new standards for on-chain and immutable digital assets on Solana, known as Metaplex Inscriptions and Engravings, has been announced by Metaplex, an NFT platform on the platform. By allowing users to store media and metadata for an item exclusively on Solana, Metaplex Inscriptions removes the need for third-party assumptions and makes it possible for on-chain attributes and smart contracts to be composed together. The immutable NFTs with inscriptions that Solana offers can be used with the Metaplex Engravings functionality.
The Engraver adds an additional degree of security to prevent any changes to the Engraved NFT, regardless of whether the original programme is immutable or not. The development network now has access to both programmes, enabling users to convert and mint new NFTs. Numbering of inscriptions will be done according to order of arrival.
