Recently, the LUNC neighborhood found itself in the center of a contentious discussion about a proposal that caused uproar in the crypto neighborhood and raised questions. The idea, headed “Let’s make CZ (Binance CEO) as chief of Terra blockchain (Luna Traditional),” drew a lot of flak.
An active resident of the LUNC neighborhood named CosmoSreXx tweeted the divisive plan. He expressed shock and criticized the idea, saying it damages the legitimacy of the blockchain by making it seem like a meme. The plan, according to CosmoSreXx, was embarrassing and seemed to go beyond all previous absurd recommendations.
The analyst also called attention to a governance gap within the community, stating that it is against the principles of a decentralized and community-owned blockchain to vote someone into a managerial position without their agreement. He stressed the challenges of overseeing a blockchain of this size, urging a more knowledgeable and sensitive approach.
The plan received mockery not just from Neighbours but also from the larger crypto community. One Shiba Inu enthusiast slammed the notion, saying Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, wouldn’t even give such “nonsense” the dignity of a response.
Another neighbour made the suggestion of a system to halt ridiculous plans in response to concerns. The user enquired as to whether it could be possible to eliminate pointless suggestions and impose penalties, such as taking a significant chunk of their LUNC tokens.
In response, CosmoSreXx proposed that illegitimate proposals should be rejected, resulting in the proposers forfeiting their deposits until the proposal could really be effectively controlled by governance.
In the end, the contentious idea sparked serious thought among the LUNC community, highlighting the need for responsible decision-making within the ecosystem.
