Melania Trump, the wife of the immediate past president of the United States Donald Trump, has launched a non-fungible token (NFT) platform on the Solana blockchain. In a press statement published on December 16, 202, Melania said the NFT platform is a reflection of her passion for the arts.

Melania’s Vision is the first NFT on the platform. A watercolor painting by Marc-Antoine Coulon portrays Melania and an audio file with a message of hope from her. One Solana (SOL), equal to about $187 at the current rate, will be required to purchase the limited-edition Melania Trump NFT.
Mrs. Trump will release Melania Trump NFT regularly in the future, and she plans to hold a one-of-a-kind auction with historic significance in the year 2022. Digital artwork, physical artwork, and a physical one-of-a-kind accessory will be up for auction.
Support platform for children
Besides reflecting Melania Trump’s love for the arts, the new Melania Trump NFT platform will also support her “Be Best initiative” for children.

“I am proud to announce my new Melania Trump NFT initiative, which embodies my passion for the arts and supports my ongoing commitment to children through the Be Best initiative,” Melania said at the launch. Our new technology-based platform will provide children with computer science skills, including programming and software development, so they can thrive after they age out of the foster care system,” she said.
Ultimately, she hopes to empower the children who have aged out of foster homes economically and help them to pursue careers in computer science and technology.
Payments will be accepted through SOL and Parler via MoonPay for credit card payments.
What are NFTs
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique and non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a digital ledger (blockchain). NFTs can be associated with reproducible digital files such as photos, videos, and audio. NFTs use a digital ledger to provide a public certificate of authenticity or proof of ownership, but it does not restrict the sharing or copying of the underlying digital file. The lack of interchangeability (fungibility) distinguishes NFTs from blockchain cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin. Similar will be launched with Melania Trump NFT.
What is Solana
Solana is a highly functional open source project that banks on blockchain technology’s permissionless nature to provide decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions. While the idea and initial work on the project began in 2017, Solana was officially launched in March 2020 by the Solana Foundation with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Solana protocol is designed to facilitate decentralized app (DApp) creation. It aims to improve scalability by introducing a proof-of-history (PoH) consensus combined with the underlying proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus of the blockchain. This is the platform for the launch of Melania Trump NFT.
