NFTs (non-fungible tokens) might still be around since certain well-liked collections are branching out into the real world to attract more customers. One of the most well-known and expensive NFT collections, Pudgy Penguins, is introducing its Pudgy Toys line in 2,000 Walmart locations across the country. Since May, the toys have been marketed online.
In Pudgy World, an online virtual world based on the zkSync Era blockchain, each toy comes with a special birth certificate that users can use to claim special characteristics for their digital “Forever Pudgy” persona by scanning a QR code. Pudgy Toys plush toys and collectibles will now be sold by Walmart, the biggest retailer in the U.S., alongside traditional consumer brands, possibly boosting the collection’s popularity outside of the cryptocurrency sector.
Users can roam Pudgy World’s rich multiplayer digital world, play games, and completely customise their Forever Pudgy avatar. When other NFT companies burned off, Pudgy Penguins used social media and experiential marketing strategies to acquire a following and create $400 million in sales since its 2021 launch. Walmart will sell 16 various varieties of Pudgy Toys from PMI Kids’ World, a company that makes toys based on well-known cartoons or well-known shows like WWE, with prices ranging from $2.99 to $11.97.
