The follow-up to Krew Studios’ Masks NFT collection has been revealed. While Jordi Mollà, a Spanish actor turned artist, was responsible for that release, the latest offering, Pastel World, is a collaboration between recording artist JVCKJ and animator Uriah Barrett-Thomas.
Pastel World is a tremendously interesting collection adds Krew co-founder Rambino, who disclosed that the project took six months to complete. What JVCKJ and Uriah have created builds on the success of Masks while providing something entirely new in the NFT market.
Introducing Pastel PFPs
Pastel World includes 8,888 generative PFPs known as Pastel Prophets, as well as a rich background to provide NFT collectors insight into the origins of the anime-style figures.
After their native planet in the faraway Pastel Galaxy became uninhabitable, these colorful prophet avatars were forced to leave. All Prophets have magical backpacks that contain charmed life creatures that must be cared for in order for the avatars to survive.
“Pastel World is unique because Pastel bearers must be in a perpetual state of continuous growth and self-discovery in order to survive and prosper,” argues JVCKJ, a musician based in Los Angeles. “We begin life at birth, and our colors deepen and diversify as we go through each of our vibrant lives, tinted by our experiences. Our life path is progressive; in a Pastel World, we become more lively.”
While the exact date for the collection’s release has yet to be determined, those who own three or more Mask NFTs will be included in the Pastel World whitelist, with the entire collection set to be released on the pastelworld.io website. NFT collectors who obtain prophet avatars will gain access to all Pastel World brands as well as ownership of the metaverse community.
The fast-growing creative studios and consultancy agency, based in Los Angeles, is made up of Web3 and NFT fans, as well as marketing strategists and creative directors. Krew’s initial release, which included hundreds of unique digital masks based on Jordi Mollà’s hand-painted physical counterparts, resulted in the construction of an immersive Mask World metaverse, which is one pillar of the Krew Universe.
Mask World will be populated by a slew of arcade and PvP-style games, according to Krew’s creative brains. Mask NFTs, on the other hand, serve as party tickets. Owners of the mask can enter the fairground-like environment, play games, collect objects, and earn prizes.
It’s unclear how Pastel World would fit into the Mask World concept, though NFTs could be offered as a prize.
In a sector dominated by platforms like Sandbox and Decentraland, the popularisation of the metaverse concept has resulted in a virtual property bubble. Sales of digital land topped $500 million last year, and the prized real estate continues to command exorbitant prices as investors bet on the assets’ appreciation. Mask World will pique the interest of metaverse aficionados who want to learn more about the gaming and earning opportunities available there.
