Sam Bankman-Fried is on trial for seven federal counts of fraud and conspiracy. The prosecution has established his presence in Manhattan through a series of emails and FBI cell phone monitoring data. The evidence shows that during the years 2021 and 2022, Bankman-Fried attended dinners at upscale hotels, met with financiers, and took part in magazine photo shoots in New York City. The prosecution has also disclosed how they learned Bankman-Fried’s phone number is his through an email discussion with the leader of the Bahamas, Philip Davis, in September 2022.
Bankman-Fried‘s whereabouts have been determined by the FBI’s cell data analysis during a number of occasions, including a photo shoot with Forbes Magazine, coffee with SALT Fund, a meeting with Temasek, dinner with NYC mayor Eric Adams, a meeting with IEX Trading, a meeting with New York Governor Kathy Hochul, a meeting with former President Bill Clinton, and a dinner with Saudi Prince Yasir Al Rumayyan. Despite the fact that Bankman-Fried‘s trial for alleged campaign finance violations has not yet started, the prosecution has focused on his numerous political donations. After the prosecution takes a break early in the day, the defence is anticipated to start making its case.
