Starting with Aurory and DeGods, Magic Eden, the premier NFT marketplace on the Solana network, will integrate the native tokens of top Solana NFT projects. Users of Magic Eden will be able to utilize Aurory’s native token AURY and DeGods’ token DUST to acquire any NFT on the marketplace.
On March 31, the site teased the news by tweeting, “brb integrating $DUST.” On April 1, it followed up with a tweet depicting a fantasy-themed tavern with the Magic Eden logo and the text “$AURY.” Solana’s SPL token standard is used by both tokens.
The tokens, according to Tiffany Huang, Magic Eden’s head of content and marketing, may be spent on the marketplace in the same way as Solana (SOL) can, which means they can be used to buy Solana NFTs from any collection featured on the platform.
About the choice to integrate Solana NFT projects’ native coins, she added, “We wanted to get those projects really thrilled that they could utilize those tokens on our platform.” “We couldn’t think of another marketplace that was doing this, so we saw it as a significant opportunity.”
Magic Eden is in talks with the authors of other Solana “blue chip” NFT collections about perhaps including their tokens as well, according to Huang, but only DUST and AURY are confirmed for now. She expects the integrations to go live within the next few weeks.
DeGods has quickly become one of the most popular Solana-based NFT projects of late, generating more trading volume on Magic Eden than any other NFT collection in the last week. During that time, the profile image project has generated about 49,000 SOL worth of trading, which is worth nearly $6.4 million as of this writing.
A DeGods NFT now has a floor price of 90 SOL, or roughly $11,660, which is the cheapest available on the market. Last week, DeGods unveiled DeadGods, a program that allows DeGods NFT holders to change their profile picture. By staking their NFT, DeGods holders can earn DUST.
Last November, Aurory rose to prominence in the Solana space. The initial profile images are part of a larger metaverse game endeavour in the works, and AURY is marketed as a “multi-utility ecosystem token” for the Aurory project’s growing ecosystem. The cheapest Aurory NFT is currently priced at 35 SOL, or about $4,500.
