To create a Web3 gaming experience, Ubisoft, the creator of games like Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six Siege, is working with Immutable, a crypto infrastructure and gaming startup. Through the use of Immutable X, a layer-2 blockchain also utilised by games such as Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians for their NFT integrations, the alliance seeks to further harness the potential of Web3.
Excited by the collaboration, Nicolas Pouard, vice president of Ubisoft Strategic Innovation Lab and head of Ubisoft’s blockchain activities, said that Immutable provides game developers with easy connections to add cryptocurrency features to their products. James Ferguson, the CEO and co-founder of Immutable, stated that the alliance would grant gamers digital ownership and that they intend to contribute their entire ecosystem to guarantee the partnership’s success.
Nevertheless, the notice lacked specifics regarding the nature of the construction. The project might be a brand-new blockchain game, an unchangeable incorporation into a currently-under-development Ubisoft game, or a gamified endeavour akin to a collect-to-earn effort. Further details will be released in the future, according to an Immutable spokesman. This collaboration is not Ubisoft’s first attempt at NFTs or NFT gaming; in the past, the business has announced the creation of a tactical role-playing game called Champions Tactics on the Oasys blockchain and published NFTs for its games Rabbids and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
