On November 10, 2021, Vogue Singapore, a team dedicated to fashion, beauty, and “stories that matter,” is launching a non-fungible token (NFT) drop on the marketplace Opensea. The drop will be the fashion and lifestyle magazine’s first NFT collection that includes digital-only Vogue covers crafted by NFT artists.
Vogue to Drop the Firm’s First NFT Collection
The fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue and its subsidiary from Singapore is entering the world of the non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles. The style agency is an old firm because it was founded in 1892 by Arthur Baldwin Turnure, and the American firm has since created a variety of worldwide offshoots.
Vogue Singapore introduced the launch of Vogue’s first NFT collection hosted on Opensea on November 10. The drop will feature “two digital-only cowls NFTs created in collaboration with native and worldwide digital designers,” Vogue Singapore’s staff details.
One of the Vogue Singapore NFT covers was crafted by the metaverse artist and Nike 3D designer, Chad Knight, alongside Jamela Law and Lionel Wong of Singapore-based design agency, Baëlf Design. The animated cowl created by Knight, Legislation and Wong is called “Triumphant Awakening.”
The duvet “presents a gold statuette standing in front of a rotating blue planet with radiant sun perennially rising and setting in an elliptical arc. A regal headdress — envisaged by Baëlf Design utilizing an AI algorithm to create natural fractal patterns — adorns the goddess, finely detailed and liberated from the laws of physics,” VogueSingapore’s announcement explains.
Vogue Singapore Plans to Release 2 ‘Beauty NFTs’ Crafted by Dain Yoon
The second digital Vogue cowl is called “The Renaixance Rising,” and the cover was made to be a programmable NFT. NFT artists The Fabricant and Shavonne Wong created the “The Renaixance Rising” piece, and the artwork’s lighting adjustments depending on the time of day it’s considered. Moreover, Vogue can also be launching two “beauty NFTs” designed by Korean make-up maestro Dain Yoon and with the Singaporean-Italian studio Lanzavecchia + Wai.
“All impressed by the global theme of ‘New Beginnings’, Yoon’s work options varied surreal interpretations of a new dawn — from cherry blossoms painted on her body to an intricate peacock make-up look emblazoned on her face — whereas Lanzavecchia + Wai has created the ‘Residing Vase 01’ and ‘Flower: Collectible’ that depicts an everlasting flowering vase that blooms and wilts with every dawn,” Vogue Singapore’s announcement concludes.
